Important News For The 17th July Road Races

Amended Road Closing Order for Jurby Motorcycle Road Races

Roads Closed to the Public

(Jurby Circuit) Ballaugh and Jurby

The Department of Infrastructure gives notice that, by an order made under the provisions of the Road Races Act 1982, the undermentioned roads, namely:

1. That length of the Jurby Main Road from its junction with the Jurby Coast Road and the Ballacrye Road to a point 150 yards east of its junction with the Ballavarran Road.

2. The whole of the length of the Ballavarran Road.

3. That length of the Jurby Coast Road from its junction with the Ballavarran Road to its junction with the Jurby Main Road and the Ballacrye Road.

4. The Jurby Church Road for a distance of 100 yards from its junction with the Jurby Coast Road.

5. That length of the Ballacrye Road from its junction with the Jurby Coast Road and the Jurby Main Road to its junction with the road leading to Ballamona Beg.

6. Those portions of all roads leading into the foregoing roads from such point thereon as may be fixed by or on behalf of the Department and indicated by barriers.

(All of which roads are hereinafter referred to as “the Course”)

will be closed to the public for the purpose of holding Jurby Motorcycle Road Races and practices preliminary thereto on:

Saturday 17 July 2010

Practices and Races 10.30 am until 1.30 pm

and

2.15 until 6.00 pm

Postponed Practices 12.45 pm until 2.15 pm

Postponed Practices and Races 2.15 pm until 6.00 pm

During the practice and race periods no person may pass any barrier onto the Course unless specially authorised nor will any traffic or pedestrians be permitted on such areas of land as will be clearly marked as ‘prohibited areas’ by the promoter.

The Course will be re-opened for traffic by an official motor car displaying a notice “Roads Open” proceeding along the Course upon completion of the practices and races, and by the passing of such vehicle the parts of the Course so passed are open for traffic.

Copies of the Orders may be inspected at any Police Station or at the Department’s offices.

Offences against the Act or Orders render the offender liable to a penalty not exceeding £2500.

This notice gives general guidance only, and should not be treated as an authoritative statement of the law.

ACU Pre-Training Course 19th May 2010

The Andreas Race School is running an Auto-Cycle Union Pre licence classroom course, which takes place at the , TT Grandstand on Wednesday 19th May 2010 at 18:30 to 21:30.

The course fee is £50, cheque made payable to the Andreas Racing Association Ltd.
